Your careers service can offer a wide range of free, independent information, advice and support to give you the competitive edge in the job market.

Each careers service operates slightly differently, but all careers services in the South West offer:

Information

  • Free internet access
  • Reference materials – newspapers, books, journals, videos, dvd’s
  • Directories and brochures of industry and employer related information
  • Practice test papers (numeracy and aptitude etc)
  • Advice leaflets (CV’s, interview techniques etc)

Talk to a Careers Advisor

  • Drop in sessions and / or appointments to discuss all aspects of career planning and development

Training, Events and Presentations

  • Skills training and workshops
  • Employer or sector presentations

Some careers services offer additional services such as advice by email, mentoring or support for entrepreneurs
