Job Description

This is a really exciting time to be joining South West Lakes Trust – we have just launched five campaign themes to help deliver our charitable causes across the South-West. The Digital Marketing Officer will play a key role in engaging with our visitors and communities via our digital platforms – increasing people’s awareness of the Trust and how we are benefitting people and the environment in our region. The role-holder will also support our trading company, South West Lakes Limited, to ensure the marketing and promotional campaigns relating to outdoor activities, camping, angling, catering and hospitality are maximised on our digital channels.

KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 Responsible for updating the websites, creating SEO optimised content and forming links with other organisations.

  • Implement our existing digital marketing strategy and ensure it continually evolves to meet the changing needs of our visitors and stakeholders.
  • Help to increase and maintain Google ranking using SEO techniques.
  • Liaise with, train and support the operational site teams on social media accounts such as Facebook to develop successful campaigns and be able to track performance.
  • Monitor, review and update Google Adwords / analytics accounts.
  •  Produce and distribute monthly e-newsletters and monitor performance.
  • Maintain and update listings on third party websites.
  • Research new online listings and promotional opportunities to help maintain a high online presence for the Trust.
  • Assist with market research, surveys and inputting data.
  • Work with the admin team to promote effective and targeted customer communication.
  • Help with organising and attending events, open days and external exhibitions.
  • Take responsibility for health and safety of self, colleagues, customers and contractors.
  • Carry out such other duties as may reasonably be assigned by the Trust.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

EXPERIENCE

  • Knowledge of digital marketing, including Google AdWords, Search Engine Optimisation and Social Media
  • A creative flare and working knowledge of Photoshop and InDesign
  • IT skills, including experience of PowerPoint, Excel and Word processing and knowledge of working with WordPress and CRM software

CAPABILITIES

  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise and multi-task
  • Good analytical skills and attention to details e.g. good proof reading skills
  • Effective communication, both oral and written e.g. ability to compose written content with accurate English grammar and spelling
  • An enthusiasm for working with the general public
  • A good team worker who can help motivate others
  • A good understanding of water-based activities and countryside issues
  • Sound geographical knowledge of the Trust’s area

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent in a subject relevant to the post
  • Current, clean driving licence
