Role Purpose

This role will essentially be the face of the ESF funded Stand Out from the Crowd course; you will act as the first point of call for all the delegates throughout their participation from initial enquiry through the facilitation of the course and qualification, and afterwards into jobs.  It is a really exciting role; the course literally changes peoples’ lives, so whilst it’s busy and demanding it is also incredibly rewarding.  With support from the team, you will manage the recruitment onto and delivery of the accredited, Stand Out from the Crowd course which supports the improvement of professionals’ employability skills and employment prospects.  This course will help people who have achieved a degree in the past but who are not employed in graduate level work, along with people who have never done a degree who would like to try an HE qualification, and new graduates.  Your role will be to support these people onto and through the course to raise aspirations, develop confidence and the tool kit to apply for challenging job roles, progress within their existing employment and help them achieve a 20 credit HE module.  The nature of this role means that the post holder will have to work flexibly to accommodate longer hours during course delivery periods which will be compensated for at other quieter times.

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Be responsible for the delivery of targeted outputs associated with the Stand Out from the Crowd programme within the project budget
  • Be present during the whole course to facilitate and help to deliver sessions which will vary between full time and part-time models, some of which may take place outside of normal office hours
  •  Manage the scheme of work for each course delivery session to ensure a central record of the delivery module is developed and all content and required people and materials are coordinated
  • Work to support delegates and maximise their chances of securing their career, engaging the Business Development Team to help their clients access talent
  • Support the continual review and implement developments of the programme
  • Secure suitable venues and catering for the course activities
  • Contact business speakers to arrange for them to participate in the course
  • Work with the Project Administrator to prepare materials in readiness for delivery of the course
  • Ensure that, alongside the Project Administrator, accurate records of participating delegates are entered into the CRM
  • Ensure all course enrolments are undertaken in a timely manner and all paperwork is administered effectively
  • Collaborate with HE Operations team and academic staff to ensure the smooth transition of delegates through the qualification to ensure targets are achieved
  • Support the marketing team to ensure courses are publicised in a timely manner and to secure delegates. 
  • Handle enquiries from potential delegates to help them understand the benefits of the programme and encourage them to participate
  • Work with finance to collect financial contributions from delegates towards course participation
  • Ensure there is a fully auditable trail of evidence for activities, the delegates and the qualification
  • Manage the CRM to ensure all details are captured in a timely and accurate way
  • Develop reports for funders and management on the progress of the activity
  • Support delegates to complete mileage claims
  • Support the development of blended learning approaches to the course delivery as required. 
  • Collate and write quarterly reports for funders and for the management team to track progress against targets


Person Specification



  • A Degree or equivalent qualifications


Experience, Skills and Knowledge


  • Recruitment experience
  • Experience of facilitation of and/or training small groups of people
  • Demonstrable success in a target oriented environment
  • Excellent organisational, interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • Excellent presentation, verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience of writing reports
  • Good IT skills
  • Driving license and access to a car
  • Ability to work flexibly during busy periods



  • PTLLs, DTLLs or other teaching qualification
  • Knowledge or experience of a broad range of sectors and organisations in Cornwall
  • An interest in marketing, promotion and sales
  • Experience of working with graduates
  • Experience of operating within a Higher Education environment
  • Experience of working within an ESF funded environment
  • Experience of co-ordinating a project with a number of partners from various sectors

Special Conditions:

The postholder will be based at the Cornwall College campus in Camborne, but will be required to travel throughout Cornwall with equipment and materials, a driving licence and use of a car is therefore essential.

18 month fixed term contract in the first instance, funded through the European Social Fund
