Job Description

An Assistant Research and Impact Analyst is required at the University of Exeter, in Exeter. The role will support the monitoring and reporting of metrics relating to the University’s research and impact strategy. The post is available for 23 months as part of the GBP scheme.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Monitor metrics that indicate the University’s performance in research and impact and act as a first point of contact for named Colleges and institutes.
  • Work closely with colleagues in Research Finance to support regular reporting, and to maximise data quality across the university.
  • Support the annual Research Monitoring process by collating and checking relevant data.
  • Assist the preparation of data for the Research Excellence Framework exercise.
  • Support the use of systems by providing advice and data extraction/analysis.
  • Assist endeavours to ensure accuracy and data quality by proofing reports.
  • Monitor and improve the data quality of Exeter records in external databases such as Scopus.
  • Maintain communications material on the data and services the analytical team can provide.
  • Support the Senior Research Analyst in delivering a high-quality enquiry service with excellent customer service standards, responding to queries in a timely manner.
  • Provide support for the Annual Student Experience Review for Postgraduate Research.

Specialist knowledge

  • Highly competent in use of IT, particularly Microsoft Excel or similar packages.

Other Requirements

  • Graduate of a UK university within the last 3 years.
  • Right to work in the UK for the duration of the internship.
