An exciting opening has arisen for an Environmental Consultant within the Compliance, Strategy and Transactions practice, based in our Cardiff office, working primarily within the areas of environmental compliance, environmental management systems and due diligence.

You will be working as part of an established environment and health & safety consulting team, developing your consulting career through the delivery of a range of interesting projects within the UK but also with the opportunity to work internationally. Professional development, training and mentoring will be provided.   

Key work areas include:

  • Conducting environmental (and depending on experience, combined EH&S) compliance audits, preparing environmental permits and developing management systems.
  • Supporting the implementation and of clients’ environmental and health and safety systems.
  • Writing reports and preparing and updating environment and health & safety legal registers.
  • Developing environmental training material and supporting the delivery of training.
  • Supporting the Ramboll Environ internal Environmental and Health and Safety Management System.

The successful candidate will be self-confident, diligent and proactive and will become part of a respected international consultancy.  You should have a willingness to work flexibly to support the other Ramboll Environ practices and offices.  Based from our Cardiff office you will be required to travel predominantly throughout the UK with some international travel.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

Essential

  • Relevant degree in environmental sciences, environmental engineering or a related environmental discipline.
  • Ability to research, analyse and interpret environmental legislative requirements and environmental information and data.   
  • Knowledge of ISO 14001 and the UK environmental permitting regime.
  • Competent and efficient report writing skills.
  • Competent project management skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Ability to organise and prioritise own workload with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient use of IT packages (including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
  • Full clean driving licence.

Desirable

  • Masters degree in environmental related discipline.  
  • Prior environmental auditing experience and experience of working in industrial sectors (manufacturing, chemical, pharmaceutical etc.) is advantageous, but no essential.
