We are looking for Graduates interested in applying for our R&D Graduate Program in Product Development and Field Technical Service (for UK).

As an R&D Product Development graduate, you will gain insight into a function which helps us innovate and develop new products, as well as optimise existing products every day for our customers. You will join experienced R&D teams in different market segments which will give you a first class introduction into the full range of manufacturing processes, raw materials, product design and product performance. Your assignments will include the execution of assigned Product Development projects and product optimisation. You will participate in pilot and production trials, laboratory investigation, sustainability evaluations, state-of-the-art research and work with both suppliers and customers. Our R&D teams work extensively across the business, so you will have contact with all functions, from production and procurement through to sales and marketing.
As an R&D Field Technical Service graduate you will support the business in line extension projects, product maintenance projects, qualification and trouble shooting on packaging machines at customer’s sites. The projects will enable you to work in close links with sales, customers, marketing, machine manufacturers, our plants and R&D Development team in order to support in generating and delivering sales or profit growth through new product market implementation and eventual trouble shooting and product improvements.

What do you need?
Each year we select, train and develop some of the world's brightest and most outstanding graduate trainees. Our Graduate Program is specially designed for independent and motivated thinkers who love learning and taking on new challenges and responsibilities – people who want to stand out in the professional world.
It’s a good start to have the following: 
  • Master’s/Honours degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, material science, polymers or physics degree 
  • Up to 2 years of work experience 
  • Internship or experience in R&D preferred 
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills 
  • Proactive and result-oriented 
  • Collaboration skills and ability to work in a team 
  • Fluency in English is required

Selection process

If you are successful, you will then be asked to do a video interview – this will give us an insight into your background and experience. If we think you would be a good fit for the Graduate Program, the next stage is a competency-based telephone interview followed by our online personality and ability tests. This will give us a more detailed insight into your skills, goals and motivations. Impress us at this stage and you will be going through the final stage – the assessment centre in one of our AFEMEA locations. You’ll be able to demonstrate that you’re the right pick for us depending on your performance in a number of challenging exercises. It will also give you a chance to find out more about AFEMEA and meet some of the people that work for us. If you are successful you will be offered a permanent contract according to the applicable laws of the respective legal entity of the hiring country within AFEMEA.
