Spotlight on RNLI

Thursday, March 21, 2019

Did you know Cornwall and Devon are #1 and #3 for counties with the longest coastline in the UK? And with superb beaches in Dorset and Somerset too the region is truly blessed as the place to go for UK-based seaside holidays. As such the RNLI is key to keeping both residents and visitors safe by the sea. Headquartered in Poole, Dorset the RNLI aims to educate, influence, supervise and rescue those at risk from drowning.

This year we are again supporting the RNLI in providing a free advert for them to help with recruiting for their Media Engagement Placement - South West position.

We are big fans of the RNLI, as residents of the south west you will often find us on the beach, and it's good to know they are there helping us to stay safe. Find their safety advice here: https://rnli.org/safety

Here are some of our favourite surf spots:

  • Saunton Sands - my closest easy to reach beach with parking and excellent beach facilities - a must for quick trips to the beach.
  • Watergate Bay - with two miles of beach at low tide, Watergate Bay has been a favourite spot for summer camping trips for a number of years.
  • Sennen - the wild, windy west - we thoroughly enjoy the Sennen waves when we make it that far

We also enjoyed sea kayaking last summer in Carrick Roads near Falmouth, and this summer our aim is to go stand-up paddle boarding!

For us, south west England is the best place to build a career, and we truly love it.
