Over the next few weeks, we’ll probably get a lot of responses from the wrong people. People already working in HR!

You would imagine we would be looking for someone with a vast amount of HR experience, and someone who would jump right into the role with minimal questions asked, but on this occasion were looking for quite the opposite.

Don’t get us wrong, we love people working in HR. *We* work in HR.

But this time we need someone to move into HR from a different sphere, or an individual ready to kickstart their career. A graduate who might have worked in another industry whilst looking for that career break, or an individual who is fresh from graduation.

If that someone is you, you’ve probably long held a desire to get into HR but were discouraged by all those job postings for entry level jobs that needed 2 years’ HR experience.

With us, you’ll get 5 years HR experience crammed into 2.

To help make that happen, you’ll be put through several ACAS modules and a CIPD Employment Law course, to cover all the HR essentials. Then, after about a year, we’ll sponsor you to do a two-year LLM Master’s degree in Employment Law. Expect plenty of ad hoc support from colleagues too – we’re a friendly, collaborative team.

Tamar HR help SMEs across the South West of England to get the best from their employees. You’ll be working with a handful of clients to deliver the HR support they need – anything from recruitment and contracts to coaching and grievances. You’ll deal with different characters in diverse business sectors. It will stretch you, but we’ll make sure it’s manageable.

Where are you now?

We’re open minded. You could have finished University in the past 3-6 months, or you might have finished a couple of years ago and have been working in hospitality or retail whilst waiting for your career break. That gap year job would have given you the understanding of how businesses work and what makes people tick – plus a little emotional maturity.

Curiosity certainly doesn’t kill the cat in this roll and we would like you to be capable of asking the kind of questions your clients will need to think about before answering.
