Job Description

An opportunity has arisen for a data literate individual committed to evidence led practice to join the Peninsula Road Safety Partnership as a Data Analyst & Performance Officer.

The Partnership provides safety camera enforcement services across the Devon and Cornwall area - including Torbay and Plymouth and the strategic road network – helping to protect road users from harm arising from such offences as excessive speed and red light running.  The Partnership is committed to evidence led policy making and practice and being able to demonstrate operational effectiveness to its governance board.

You would have a key role in managing and utilising complex data from a variety of sources (including collision, enforcement and demographic), developing intelligence from that data and using it to inform decision making and accountability within the Partnership.

Your work will influence the deployment of:

  • Partnership resources
  • Assets including cameras
  • Speed detection officers
  • Partnership activities
  • Measure effectiveness
  • Influence change and improvement across all Partnership activities.

You will be able to demonstrate skills in data interpretation, management and presentation – and be able to create and communicate a clear narrative from the data for the benefit of governance, management and operations personnel.  This will include recommendations for practice derived from published research as well as accumulated data.

You will be based with the Partnership team at Crownhill Police Station, Plymouth with day-to-day management provided by the Partnership Manager. You will enjoy frequent liaison with colleagues in Devon & Cornwall Police, highway authority partners and other agencies contributing to the road safety effort.  This will include collaboration with other analysts working in similar fields and a progressive, continuous learning culture is encouraged and facilitated.
