Job Description

A Graduate Developer is sought by Organic, an independent full-service digital agency in Exeter. You will assist in completion of various websites and application projects, as well as taking steps to becoming a full-stack developer within the team. This is permanent role which begins in Sept 2020.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Purpose of Role

To assist the development team in completion of various websites and application projects, as well as taking steps to becoming a full-stack developer within the team.

Duties and Responsibilities

You’ll start making an impact from day one. Your level of coding experience depends on how much you’ll pick up initially, but we’ll put a customised training programme in place to ensure you’re up to scratch as quick as possible.

Once established within the team, you’ll then be responsible for managing the end-to-end development cycle for client web-build projects.

You’ll be producing flawless code, and be responsible for ensuring error-free submissions to the Head of Development within set deadlines. You’ll be proactively communicating with other members of the team to ensure projects run smoothly and efficiently.

Other duties include:

  • Working within the LAMP stack and using frameworks such as WordPress, Laravel and React.
  • Maintaining high-standards of best-practice coding at all times.
  • Seeking innovative methods of improving processes.
  • Exploring new technologies to introduce to the agency, as well as helping to mould the development department.

Training and Development opportunities

You’ll work closely with our Head of Development and receive training on the following technologies:

  • PHP (including WordPress and Laravel)
  • HTML, CSS and Javascript
  • React.js and Node.js Google Cloud Platform

As new technologies emerge, you’ll have the chance to explore and assess viability for introducing to the agency. We’re also conducting various online training, including Google Cloud Platform certifications.

Level of Support

Joe - the Head of Development - will be the line manager and mentor. You’ll work with him on a daily basis in both capacities.

Requirements

A graduate of a UK university within the last 3 years.

Right to work in the UK for the duration of the internship.
