We strive for excellence and expect our people to be the best in the industry. We’ve been successful through the years because of our continuous efforts to refine our processes and improve our products. Our core of talented engineers has been critical to our success and will continue to be instrumental in future growth.

We take pride in pioneering manufacturing and quality processes. Our engineers become involved in projects on a wider range of technologies and processes than possible at any other leading technology company, collaborating with major aerospace engine and industrial gas turbine original equipment manufacturers.

Our Engineering Development Programme is a challenging opportunity for you to gain a breadth of knowledge about the many processes that make up the operations of Arconic Engines. Additionally, you will gain a better understanding of how our organisation operates and how our people work together to solve problems.

Roles may include:

• Characterise castings with metallography, mechanical tests, and chemical analyses to help determine variability and to assure customers that castings will have the desired properties

• Analyse processes, and examine scrap to recommend different methods of improving casting yield (improving productivity)

• Implement technological advances in existing processes: work with manufacturing to improve current processes Above all we are a technology company.

Our engineers, scientists, technicians, researchers, account managers and all team members are problem solvers. Working together we tackle some of the word’s toughest engineering challenges for the world’s largest companies. We also create a stimulating work environment where professionals thrive. We look for people who have the ability to take on challenges, deal with complexity, can translate research and analysis in to practical solutions and can deliver results individually and as a member of a team

The programme is 18 months in duration which includes three 6 month placements throughout the UK and France. We work a 37.5 hour week, and offer an attractive benefits package. We are looking for candidates with at least a 2.1 in Metallurgy, ideally with some knowledge of Metal and Ceramic properties.

What we offer:

25 days' holiday plus 8 bank holidays (with 3 extra shut down days at Christmas); Pension scheme; Performance Bonus scheme; Regular health checks and incentives (flu vaccinations); Health cash plan scheme after 90 days service; Free on site parking; Excellent opportunities for on the job technical training and an on site subsidised canteen.
