Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Plessey as a Graduate Process Engineer, working at our Plymouth manufacturing site in Devon. Working in a small and highly skilled team of specialists, this is a key role involving the development of LED device processing technology. Plessey is an expert in Gallium Nitride on Silicon LED manufacturing applications with a variety of products on sale and in development. Applications include high brightness solid state lighting, Grow-lights for increasing yields of green-house grown food products and MicroLEDs for displays including heads up, augmented and virtual reality systems.

This position will involve close liaison with our engineering and manufacturing personnel based in the UK and will constantly seek out and implement opportunities for innovation and improvement.

You will work on a family of LED based products in Plessey’s exciting LED portfolio and be interfacing closely with the product design and manufacturing teams.

You will need:

  • A degree in an engineering or science field – Electrical/ Electronic engineering, Physics, or Material Science.
  • A current UK work visa.

The position is based at our high tech manufacturing site in Plymouth. Hours of work Monday – Friday, 8:00 – 16:30, with an hour for lunch. For some job roles there will be the requirement to transfer to a shift pattern including one weekend in three, with additional shift premium. In return we offer a competitive salary, commensurate with relevant skill and experience, and excellent benefits.
