The Bumblebee Conservation Trust (BBCT) is looking for a Project Officer (24.5 hours per week).
Your primary role will be to deliver the Pollinating the Fowey Valley project in Cornwall. You will trial the University of Exeter’s Bee-Steward model at a landscape scale across the Fowey Valley. You will collect and analyse bumblebee and habitat data to refine the model and test its capabilities, and facilitate habitat creation with local stakeholders.
As a member of the Bumblebee Conservation Trust’s Conservation and Science Team, you will be collectively responsible for the delivery of BBCT’s strategic aims. In particular, you will be working to deliver aim one, which is to enhance the understanding of bumblebee ecology and conservation.
You will be an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual with data handling and conservation experience. You will have good analytical skills, and proven experience of carrying out statistical analysis and managing data sets. You will have experience of working with farmers and other land managers. You will have knowledge of pollinators and their habitats, and of habitat creation and management. You will have excellent communication skills, and be able to build effective relationships and work independently.
