Structural and Civil Engineer Graduate, preferably with some post Graduate experience to work on varied, innovative, imaginative, sustainable, and historic structures.

Generally: 

Providing professional civil and structural engineering services within a multi-disciplinary building and conservation practice rebranded as Desmonde Associates from the original PDP (set up in 1982) operating throughout the UK. To support our work with private sector clients on smaller projects and major organisations such as Local Authorities, the Scottish Government, Prime Contractors, and Property Developers throughout Cornwall and the UK.

Skills:

You would be working on a wide range of project types from new homes/commercial and extensions to nationally important historic structures; geotechnical, civil, and coastal structures; and supporting delivery of expert evidence.

The Engineer would have a role, initially, in supporting the Firm’s structural and civil engineering capabilities that are recognised for high quality, innovative design. Soon thereafter, with support and guidance, you would take on Projects in your own right.

Qualifications:

Degree level and a Graduate Member or seeking to be a Chartered Member of the Institution of Structural Engineers or Institution of Civil Engineers.

Role:

You will be working within a Design Office, using common software such as TEDDS/TEKLA and AutoCAD/Revit. Good communicator and report writing skills. Self-motivated and ambitious. We support Home working. Site inspections and Project Meetings requiring travel – driving licence is necessary.

Skills:

You will develop your engineering expertise, Job Control, Client Liaison and Quality Assurance. Working with a small team supported by experienced senior personnel.

Training:

Will be a significant part of what you do, and this includes CPD courses of to at least 2 CPD sessions per year and Annual Personnel reviews. You will be supporting the provision of Designer Method Statements and Risk Assessments to gain training on the CDM Regulations and the roles and responsibilities of the Construction Participants.

Remuneration: For the selected candidate, you can expect a better than average salary with Annual Bonus and rapid promotion to greater responsibility with attendant income growth.
