The Fair Trading Team provides support and assistance to local businesses and helps them to stand out from the rogues and villains through its "Buy with Confidence" business accreditation scheme.

Maternity cover is now required to maintain our on-going contact with local businesses as well as to continue the recruitment of new businesses and to support the marketing and promotion of the scheme.

As a Trading Standards Enforcement Officer the post-holder will also support criminal investigations undertaken by the team and efforts to combat doorstep frauds, scams and illegal sales of restricted products.

This is a fixed term contract for 6 months to cover maternity. If you wish to be considered for a secondment, please obtain your manager’s permission before applying.

This position will be subject to a basic criminal record disclosure check.

This is a public/customer-facing role, where the statutory English language requirement for public sector workers applies.
