Job Description

In a nutshell: You'll be stepping into a trainee tax role with PKF Francis Clark where, over the next 3 years, you’ll be supported in becoming a brilliant Tax Advisor. You will build your career within a collaborative culture where you feel you belong and can be yourself.

The team and what you’ll be doing

As a trainee tax advisor you will work across our taxation teams which include Corporate tax, Private Client Tax, Tax Advisory Services and VAT.

You will be able to develop your professional experience across all areas of tax compliance and advisory work and supported to achieve the Association of Taxation Technicians and the Chartered Tax Adviser qualifications via an apprenticeship. This combination is the gold standard of quality for tax professionals.

Our tax teams enjoy diverse and varied roles providing tailored tax planning and advice to clients ranging from large corporate companies to family businesses and individuals.

You’ll work alongside other departments providing the specialist in-depth advice required for the ever-increasing complexity of tax law. Tax is pivotal to so much accountancy work, so you’ll learn to interpret complex legislation and deliver solutions in a way that clients understand.

If you love deep research and want to hone your investigative skills, then the tax route will be a great choice for you.

You’ll also be part of our trainee rotation programme which will provide you with a well-rounded training experience whilst undertaking your CTA qualification with us.

PKF Francis Clark supports hybrid working, so you will split your time between working in the office, client sites, studying for your professional exams and working from home.

Each year that you are with us, you will build upon the knowledge and experiences that you have gained and be given more responsibility as you grow and develop.

Learning and development

All of our trainee opportunities follow apprenticeship standards, which we fully fund so in addition to learning on the job with support from experienced colleagues, you’ll spend time studying via a leading professional training provider, through a mix of online and classroom-based learning.

We recognise that personal development training is essential in helping you to become a trusted business adviser, so you will receive support and learning not only for your professional qualification but also towards the skills and behaviours that are required to be a successful accountant. You will be allocated a buddy straight away and when you join us you will have a student counsellor and a line manager to ensure that you are on track with both your professional qualification and career aspirations.
