Job Description

We are looking for a UX/UI Designer to join our rocket ship, this is a rare opportunity for someone to join us as an early stage employee in a tech company set to reinvent an industry.

The Role

Our tools are used by streamers all over the world to host their own live gameshows. As we continue to grow and expand our offering, we need someone who can help us to design creative and highly effective user facing screens for both mobile and web products. This is a brand new product and we are looking for somebody who can help us to design the entire user interface from the ground up, using their skill and experience to suggest innovative new ways to appeal to users and to create a fun and distinctive presence for our brand.

Reporting directly to the Head of Product, our UX/UI Designer will be hands-on with the design process from day one, effectively employing the core principles of UX best practice and demonstrating strong skills in data collection and analysis to help lead the design process. The successful candidate will be comfortable working collaboratively with a cross-functional team and contributing creative ideas in order to drive innovation. They will also have the experience to plan and co-ordinate user testing with support from the wider team.

  • Create usable, attractive, and intuitive user facing designs for Codices’ web and mobile products, collaborating with other team members to turn simple ideas into exciting new designs.
  • Maintain a strong focus on the user experience, championing principles of user-centred design combined with a strong flair for creativity and innovation.
  • Demonstrate an excellent understanding of — and empathy for — different user groups, proactively addressing complex challenges by conducting user research, collecting metrics data, running controlled user testing and employing UX best practice.
  • Articulate your reasoning and decision-making process clearly and simply through discussion or written documentation where required.
  • Build, develop and present wireframes, mock ups, and final designs to key stakeholders — ensuring that all cross-platform products maintain a tangible visual consistency.
  • Own and develop plans to achieve and improve on target KPIs through continuous updates and improvements to the user experience, incorporating user feedback, testing data and wider business requirements.

Skills Required

  • Demonstrable experience of delivering successful outcomes in UX/UI design — particularly iterating both pre- and post-launch mobile and/or web products.
  • A thorough understanding of user-centered design best practices and the confidence to apply them effectively to design challenges.
  • Experience of organising and running user research and testing — including an adeptness for handling and analysing quantitative and qualitative data, and the ability to apply this to design decisions.
  • Familiarity with design tools such as InVision to create wireframes, and photoshop for mock ups and final designs.
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to collaborate with different teams and to own your work — confidence in reporting progress on business-led KPIs.
  • Willingness to be part of a groundbreaking, fast-moving entertainment technology company.
