Manufacturing confidence (slightly) up, and recruitment might follow

The latest South West Survey of SME Manufacturers from SWMAS has reported for 2019-20 Q3 and it is revealing a more positive outlook from the region's manufacturers.

The last 6 months has shown the worst performance for a decade, and unsurprisingly, recruitment has also been at an all time low across the South West, with the figure steadily dropping since the end of 2018. This has reflected a lack of investment over the past 2 years.

However, the forecast for the next 6 months looks slightly more positive, with hopes for a growth in sales, profit increases and investment all due to a partial improvement in confidence for future business growth. If businesses are looking more positively towards the future, hopefully that will result in an pickup in recruitment for this year's graduating cohort. Finger's crossed!

If you are looking to recruit a recent graduate do get in touch.
