Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Junior Applications Support/Developer to join our DevOps team within our IT department.

The role:

Working in the DevOps team within IT, you will become a key member of the team and help deliver our plans for improvement, innovation and efficiency. 

You will be working with a mix of in-house written applications and COTS (Commercial Off The Shelf) software, providing third line support, small product developments and enhancements and integrating these together to provide the most effective software stack for our internal users.

This is an excellent opportunity for an Application Support specialist who wants to do move into software development or for a junior developer who wants to broaden their application support skills.

You will join a small, dynamic team where you will deal with 3rd line technical support calls, and enhancement requests which could include bug fixes, database report queries or workflow amendments. You will also be involved in the development of .NET applications and the case management which underpins business processes.

You will work with our suppliers and the rest of the IT team to maintain our application software and keep our systems running smoothly. You will use your problem solving and analytical to take ownership of problems until resolved, and take pride in providing a great service.

As part of this busy team you will need a solid grounding in C# and SQL, excellent problem solving skills, great communication, previous experience of Application Software Support and Development and a thirst for learning.

About you:

C# and SQL skills are essential, and experience of workflow development, particularly VisualFiles and Metastorm BPM would be a distinct advantage.

The role is wide ranging and you will be working with Sharepoint, SSRS, TFS, Practice Management (Elite Enterprise), CRM (Interacton), Finance Systems and iManage, all operating in a Microsoft environment.

Support or development knowledge of any of these products (or equivalent) would be particularly helpful.

You will need to be organised and proactive, with a can-do attitude, able to multi task and thrive under pressure. You will always be looking for ways to improve systems and has ideas for solving problems
