Petroc

Description

Petroc is one of the leading education providers in the South West. With over 10,000 learners ranging in age from 16–80+ years, we offer apprenticeships, A-levels, vocational and degree courses to students on site, in the workplace and through distance learning. By recruiting expert teaching staff and support staff, we are able to truly support our students and run an efficient and professional college.

At Petroc, we value the part each staff member plays in the successes of our learners. We actively invest in our staff and continually review our practices to ensure we attract and retain the best.  Our staff are forward-thinking, passionate and highly-skilled and help make Petroc a vibrant, inspirational and exciting place to work and study.

We recognise and reward our diverse and talented staff by offering them the best opportunities to progress. We are committed to being an equal opportunities employer; this doesn’t just cover our recruitment and selection procedures but also runs through our learning and development, appraisals and promotion opportunities. We work hard to have a culture free from discrimination, harassment and victimisation.  At Petroc, we believe everyone should have the same opportunities to fulfil their full potential and selection for any position would be on the basis of ability and requirements of the role.

Petroc is committed to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) and in promoting EDI, Petroc expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.  The College Recruitment and Selection Policy seeks to support this agenda through ensuring that at all stages of recruitment and selection are non-discriminatory and individuals are employed on the basis of ability and the requirements of the post (which are detailed in the Person Specification).

As well as being a fantastic employer to work for, Petroc is also located in one of the most picturesque parts of the UK, with campuses on both the beautiful and rugged North Devon coastline and nestled in the heart of the Mid Devon countryside. With a wonderful variety of landscapes and activities, we have good transport links and our local beaches win numerous awards year after year. As well as our golden sandy beaches, we have dramatic coastlines, rugged moors and valleys all ready to be explored. With great local food and drink and a wealth of cultural experiences, it is easy to see why the South West is regularly nominated as a great place to live.
