6 reasons why you should include salary ranges in your job adverts

We recommend employers be explicit about salary. This is because whatever salary you decide upon, graduates are often put off by jobs that do not indicate a salary range.

However, we continue to see so many adverts that fail to detail the salary range that we felt the need to be more explicit about our reasons for recommending you include salary ranges in your adverts.

New partnership with Occumi

We are pleased to announce a new partnership with Occumi.

Occumi is a tool which allows students and graduates to identify and understand the transferable skills that they have developed from their educational qualifications and work experience.

We hope this partnership will enable our job seekers to better understand their skills, so that they make more informed applications to you.

Graduate jobs market grows

The UK’s graduate labour market saw an increase of 10% more jobs than the previous year according to the Institute of Student Employers’ annual student recruitment survey.

ISE’s report also found that employers had challenges recruiting graduates for engineering, IT programming and development, and technical and analytical roles. Actuaries, electronic engineers, prison officers and quantity surveyors were also highlighted as shortage areas.

Professional Mentoring Programme

Professional Mentoring Programme

We know from personal experience that mentoring undergraduate students is a rewarding experience and one that, amongst other things, can develop your coaching skills.

The University of Plymouth is currently recruiting business mentors to support students with their career aspirations over a 6 month period.
